Information for International Applicants:
We are delighted that you are considering applying to The City of the Dharma Realm Instilling Goodness Elementary and Developing Virtues Secondary Schools (CDR IGDVS). At the CDR IGDVS, our focus is educating our students the importance of incorporating and practicing the Eight Confucian Virtues—Filial Piety, Loyalty, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect, Integrity, Kindness, and Humility—in their daily lives. By providing them with a solid foundation in these Virtues in addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, we educate our students to be exemplary citizens of society. Process of Application
To be considered for admission to the CDR IGDVS, we ask that you fill out the School Application Forms, and submit the following items:

Two or three letters of recommendation from teachers of current year or of last two years. If letters are in languages other than English or Chinese, please have the letter translated into English.

Student's personal statement describing yourself and reasons for wanting to attend the CDR IGDVS. The statement should be no more than 600 words.

Student transcript of current and past years.

TOFEL Junior Test Scores required for non-native English speakers.

Financial Statement with attached required documentation.

Health Records – recent Physical Exam documents (must be translated into English, if not already in

English or Chinese) and Immunization Records (including Tuberculosis (TB) Test results).

Copy of Student Passport and Parents' Passports.

Recent Student Photo.

Application fee of $250 US dollars.
Please submit these materials to us via email to info@cdrigdvs.org. We recommend that you submit ALL items in ONE email to facilitate record keeping as well as to minimize any delays in the processing of your application.

Once the completed application packet has been reviewed, a preliminary response will be generated via email to inform you of our decision to grant an interview. If an interview is granted, we will try to coordinate a mutually convenient and agreeable time to do the interview either in person or via ZOOM. We would like the student and parents both to be present and available for the interview.

Once the interview has been completed, the student application will be further considered, and a final decision of admission or denial will be forwarded to the student and/or parents to inform them of our decision within 4 weeks of the interview.

We ask that you let us know as soon as possible if you wish to attend CDR IGDVS, so that we may process Form I-20 as soon as possible to minimize delays in the Visa issuance.
Student Age and Room and Board
The City of the Dharma Realm Instilling Goodness Elementary and Developing Virtues Secondary Schools offer education from K through 12, and provide room and board for international students on a case by case basis. If your child is under the age of 12, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the child to care for the child either on campus or off campus. On-campus accommodations for the parent or guardian may be possible, but is considered on a case by case basis. A separate application must be completed by the parent or legal guardian accompanying the child, if the parent or legal guardian wishes to apply for on-campus accommodations. The parent or legal guardian must be interviewed by the school, if the individual was not present for the student interview. The parent or guardian staying on campus with the student must follow the rules and regulations for residents staying in a Buddhist monastery.

If the student is 12 years or older, he/she may board at the school or choose to live locally with family or relatives and commute to school as a day student. If the student wishes to live on campus and has been approved to do so, there will be additional fees for room and board. A fee schedule is listed below for your information.

Books and Material Fees: $120
Registration Fees: $60
Room & Board: $40 per Day​
