On Friday morning, September 1, 2023, City of the Dharma Realm’s Instilling Goodness and Developing Virtue School (CDR-IGDVS) welcomed students, parents, and teachers to start the beginning of the school year.
After teachers met students and parents at the gate, the day began with a walk to the school campus and the first flag ceremony of the year.
The principal, Dharma Master Heng Shr, and vice-principal, Dr. Tammy Wu, of the school warmly greeted students and parents, and spoke on the importance of the eight virtues in education. Dharma Master Heng Gwei, the manager of the City of the Dharma Realm, also gave a message of encouragement to start the year.
The new kindergarten and first-grade students said hello to their new teachers, and expressed how much they liked their new school uniforms.
The new teachers joining the faculty at CDR-IGDVS for the 2023-24 school year were introduced by the principal, and all of the teachers greeted the students and parents.
Then the students were off to class for a round of introductions and ice breaker games, meal offering in the Buddha Hall, afternoon classes, a brief nature walk around the school campus, a final class, and then goodbye until next week.
All of us at CDR-IGDVS are delighted to welcome students and parents for the 2023-2024 school year.
